Overwolf

Overwolf is a utility app for games, which adds on social features.

Overwolf is both a game and the name of the company which produced it. The Overwolf app allows game players to insert different social and other components into an existing game. For instance, Facebook, TeamSpeak, video capture, Skype, and a browser. The app lets players continue playing their game without the need to exit in order to use the app add ins.

Hardcore gamers will now be able to click a tab on the side of the screen to access Overwolf, and from there select the add in which is desired. For group games, Skype can be desired to keep track of things, and now it can run in the same window as the game without any problems. When players are stuck in a game and need help, a browser window offers the option of searching for the answer while still in-game. Players wanting to record video of their game can do so, and even post it on-line from inside the game and the Overwolf app.

Most role-playing and current computer games are compatible with Overwolf; some examples are Age of Empires, Alan Wake, Alien Swarm, Allods Online, Arctic Combat, Assassin's Creed (some exceptions), Back to the Future: The Game, Batman: Arkham Knight, Battlefield 2, Battleforge, Call of Duty (several editions), CivCity Rome, CrimeCraft: Gang Wars, Dark Souls, DC Universe Online, Eden Eternal, FIFA 13 & 14, GM Rally, Hellgate: Global, Impire, Jet Set Radio, Killer is Dead, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Mass Effect 2, NBA 2K13, Oddworld, Papers Please, Quantum Conundrum, RaceRoom Racing Experience demo, Saints Row 2, Terraria, Unreal Tournament 2004, Victoria II, War of the Roses, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and Zombie Driver.

The Overwolf company has also designed other game and communication-related apps such as Wowhead, an in-game help app for World of Warcraft; LoLwiz in-game summoner stats; CSgo stats; Minecraft Recipe; SmiteGuru; GW2 Wiki; WoT XVM Auto-Updater; Faceit; ArcheAgeDatabase; and Zam.

Other add-ins for Overwolf chat, screen capture, Yahoo mail; windows live messenger, Gmail, and twitter.

PC users can install Overwolf on Windows XP/Vista/7 with the .net 3.5 framework installed, and the app's designers say that any computer capable of gaming well should be suitable.
